Fresh from the garden - Zucchini Turkey Burgers!

So our garden is in full swing.  Right now we're getting 4-5 cucumbers a week, there are about 3 dozen tomatoes in various stages and today we pulled our first zucchini and one lonely beet.

Turkey-Zucchini Burger with Spinach and side of pressed sour cream cucumber salad
In the past I haven't cooked a lot.  I know how and I'm actually pretty good at it (my brother is a professional chef, so next to him my cooking is the equivalent of making toast), its just not something I have particularly enjoyed in the past.

Today I am making Zucchini Turkey Burgers.  I don't have a recipe, I'm just making it up as I go along.

Relationship Reality: Are Your Relationships Based In Reality or Fantasy?

I am fortunate to have had amazing husband, but I have many friends that seem to keep repeating mistakes, so this is for them...

Relationship Reality: Are Your Relationships Based In Reality or Fantasy?

Within the next two to three minutes, you will uncover if you have had relationships based in reality or fantasy!
I want you to recall a failed relationship and ask yourself one question, "Why didn't it work?"
Initially, you may answer, "They cheated, lied, changed, etc." But be honest with yourself. Without honesty there cannot be any changes in your life.

Spring weather the warmest since 1910, NOAA says – No Kidding!!

Spring weather the warmest since 1910, NOAA says

Many of us went through a winter that seemed nonexistent. There were no major blizzards or numbing arctic outbreaks. And it looks as if spring continued much of the same weather pattern throughout the United States.
After reviewing the past several months, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said that May 2012 will end as the second warmest on record in the United States. It also said that the spring period of March through May will go down as the warmest on record since record keeping began in 1895.

A Touching Mother Daughter Story

This story was so touching, I simply had to share it.  I hope the persons involved does not mind.

This is a true story that occurred in May 2012 though to protect their privacy, I am not using any descriptive details.

A friend of mine lost her mother about a month ago.  A few weeks later, just as life was returning to normal, she arrived home one day to find a package on her doorstep.

Our 1st Veggie Garden - Week 6 - Our First Harvest

Well it's official.  I have become a domesticated housewife!

This week we were able to harvest our first crops!

2 very pale, oddly shaped cucumbers.
2 normal cucumbers and 1 Beefsteak tomato.
On the right is Fern Leaf Dill and Lemon Balm

While this may not seem like a large bounty, it was more than enough to whip up a salad as a light dinner for us.  Doesn't this look yummy!!
